Complete Guide On How To Transfer From Charles de Gaulle (CDG) Airport to Serris
The small commune of Serris, located in the Seine-et-Marne department of Ile-de-France is only 5.65km2 with a population of just over 6000. Yet its proximity to Disney Golf Resort, Disneyland Paris and the thrills of Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios and the shopping found at Disney village draw in many visitors to the region each year. Serris also finds itself very close to Val D’Europe which draws in shoppers from all over Europe.
It is not only recreational tourism that draws in visitors, despite the relatively small size of Serris it hosts various major businesses, including Henkel Technologies France, a chemical company and the Barjane distribution centre.
Both recreational and business visitors to the area will rely on Paris’ air connections and most will travel through Paris’ Charles de Gaulle Airport, located 47 km North of Serris.
The CDG airport is France’s busiest airport, it is in fact one of Europe’s busiest airports. The airport is Air France’s main hub, as well as a secondary hub for Delta Airlines and easyJet. The sheer number of airlines using the airport means there are over 475000 aircraft movements each year, moving a staggering 90 million passengers. The airport site itself is large, 3 terminals serve the airport with terminal 2 spread into 7 sub-terminals, all connected by either walkways, buses or dedicated shuttle services. The airport has several bus stops at each terminal and is served by its own RER (suburban) train station and TGV (mainline) train station.
Visitors to CDG can find the experience rather daunting, especially when travelling with a family or young children. Prior planning and preparation should be undertaken when travelling through Charles de Gaulle, although a private taxi transfer can reduce problems, and ultimately stress!
