How To Get From Charles de Gaulle Airport to Moxy Paris Val d’Europe

You’ve just arrived at Charles de Gaulle, and you’re already exhausted – and still have 40 kilometres to go from here to the hotel. Not quite how you’d like to start your journey after an extended trip. The great news is that transferring from the airport to Moxy Paris Val d’Europe is one of the easiest airport transfers in Paris! Located right next to Val d’Europe train station and the shopping centre, the hotel is only a few minutes from Disneyland Paris, hence why so many families and business travellers end up in Marne-la-Vallée.

There are actually three ways to close that gap. A private car or a hired car. The RER train network, plus a faster SNCF option just for those with a good sense of time. Or a shuttle service more for Disneyland visitors. None of these are difficult once they are explained to you, but they may work for people in very different ways. Let’s get into what each one actually looks like, real costs, real timings, and a comparison table at the end so you aren’t left to guess.

Option 1: Taxi or Private Transfer

Whether you’re bringing your suitcases, stroller, or none of that excuse making business, a private transfer eliminates the most difficult part. It takes about 40 kilometres and takes around 35 to 45 minutes to drive; most of the time it will be on the A104 and A4. But, especially during the week’s rush hour or a school holiday weekend, leave some breathing space around Marne-la-Vallée — the traffic around here isn’t too bothered by your arrival.

Benefits of Private Transfers

It’s not about speed on paper. It’s the type of thing you don’t need to worry about. No suitcases carried up escalators at Chatelet-Les-Halles. No standing on a platform wondering if you were on the correct branch of the RER. No strolling up to the end of the walk carrying bags in both hands. You can expect to be met at the arrivals by a driver who will have a sign with your name and lead you directly to the Moxy’s front door. The convenience is worth a lot more if you’re travelling with children or an elderly parent, or you’ve just had one of the flights.

It’s the most predictable one out of the three, too. Trains get delayed. The shuttle buses have fixed windows that may not align with the time of your landing. But a private car does not book around the flight, rather the flight books the car. Most good operators will keep a record of your flight number and adjust the pickup time for you as needed if you arrive too early or late after a long journey — relieving you of yet another concern.

Estimated Taxi & Private Car Costs

The average range of a metered taxi between the airport’s rank and Val d’Europe is €90 to €120. This varies depending on traffic, time of day and on the application of a night or holiday surcharge. Private bookings are generally more expensive but they are also more reliable as the price is fixed at booking and is usually estimated at €75 to €90 for a standard sedan, which is just fine for a small group of up to 5 people; larger vehicles will cost a little more for larger groups.

Fixing the price is actually really important, than people think. If you take a metered taxi, you’ll get more expensive if you end up on a busy road like the A4. If you have a transfer arranged, the quoted price is the price that you pay. It doesn’t matter what the motorway will be like that afternoon.

Booking Your Private Transfer

This is why it’s better to use a dedicated service like T2 Transfer than simply the taxi that is first in line. T2 Transfer is well informed about this route, from Paris airports to the Disneyland area, so their drivers know the quickest way to Val d’Europe and the fastest drop-off at the Moxy without needing a map! They don’t charge you extra for child seats or booster seats, and luggage is included in the fare, not as an add-on. Plus, they have English-speaking drivers so you won’t have to worry about any other language as you step off a long-haul flight.

It’s easy to book. Provide pickup and destination information as well as flight number, receive confirmation via email and pay cash on the day or pay online in advance. Delays are automatically recorded — you won’t have to worry about losing sight of your car if the plane is delayed. It’s the easiest way to get those 40 kilometres behind you – if you landed with kids, running on no sleep, or simply wanted one less decision to make.

Option 2: Train

The train can be useful here, and if you don’t mind reading the signage and walking the remainder of the distance with your own bags, it really is what a number of the regular users of the Val d’Europe use. You have to be aware of two different ones: the standard RER line as well as a faster but much less frequent SNCF line. The RER service runs more often throughout the day, making it a convenient choice for most travellers, while the SNCF train can significantly reduce travel time if the schedule suits your arrival. Both options are generally reliable, although checking departure times in advance is recommended, especially during weekends, public holidays, or late evening hours when services may be less frequent. Buying your ticket in advance or using a contactless payment method can make the journey smoother and save time at the station. If you’re travelling with children or large suitcases, allow a little extra time to navigate platforms and transfers comfortably.

Pros & Cons

The regular journey from CDG to central Paris is via the RER B, then switch onto the RER A to arrive at Chatelet-Les-Halles station, where you change for the RER A to Val d’Europe station, which is just by the hotel and the shopping centre, and then take a single stop early. Frequency and cost are the upside. Not a lot of people are waiting for you at the right terminal exit; tickets are inexpensive and trains run frequently. The downside? You’re carrying your own bags through a change of trains at a crowded interchange and at rush hour, those trains can fill up. Not convenient when traveling at the end of your quarantine and carrying suitcases.

For those who are fortunate in their timing, there’s a quicker method as well. There is a direct train from the Aeroport CDG2 TGV station directly to the Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy TGV station, in approximately 10-15 mins, no train change required. This time it’s much more of a smooth ride. But such direct services are not common (a few per day is not uncommon) and only makes sense if it happens to depart when you arrive.

Train Tickets & Booking

The Ile-de-France ticket for the standard RER B + RER A ticket is valid for both journeys and is required to travel from Val d’Europe as it is in an outer fare zone outside central Paris. The ticket is normally a combined ticket of €13 to €15 per adult. Purchase it at the CDG terminals’ ticket machine before getting on board or organize it in advance via the Ile-de-France Mobilités app. Children under a certain age travel free or at a discount, depending on current fare rules (which can be confirmed at the farebox) — do check the fare rules at the farebox.

Or using the direct SNCF connection? As a mainline train, rather than a regional commuter train, ticket prices are significantly higher, at least €30 to €50, and sold separately on SNCF Connect. Book a seat in advance here, as it is less capacity than the RER.

Train Travel Time & Frequency

While the first leg takes no more than about 10-15 minutes to depart CDG, the trains on the RER B service run nearly every 10 minutes until midnight. Switching to RER A at Chatelet-Les-Halles, trains towards Marne-la-Vallée-Chessy operate frequently and every 15/20 minutes during the day. The total travel time is typically between 60 and 75 minutes on this line. Yes, longer than a private transfer, but manageable, particularly if you aren’t in a rush to sign in as you arrive.

Option 3: Bus

The bus service is not exclusively to Val d’Europe, but is really around Disneyland Paris, so that is something to know before booking one unless you will be staying at the Moxy.

Bus Routes & Stops

It’s not the station that’s the main focus here, but rather the Magical Shuttle service, which will pick up passengers from the CDG T2E/2F Terminal and take them around the Disneyland hotel area, such as Newport Bay Club. The Moxy is not on this line so most visitors will need to take a taxi or taxi walk to the nearest drop-off point to get to the hotel (which takes about 10 to 15 minutes). It’s not quite a door-to-door offer, as it seems on the surface.

Bus Fares & Schedules

Magical Shuttle operates approximately 1 hour on the hour from approximately 9am to 8pm. If you miss that timeframe, and this option, you’ll be stuck with a taxi or the train. Generally, fares are about €20 to €25 per person, one way, which is not a great deal more expensive than a private transfer, though with that extra taxi/pedestrian at the end. The travelling time (including waiting for the next scheduled service) is typically between 1 hour and 1 hour and a half. This is the least expensive of the three, but also the slowest.

Comparing All Transport Options: Cost, Time, Convenience

ModeTravel TimeCostConvenienceBest For
Private Transfer / Taxi35–45 min (60+ in traffic)€75–€120Highest — door-to-door, no transfersFamilies, tired flyers, heavy luggage
RER Train (B + A)60–75 min€13–€15Moderate — one change, frequent trainsSolo travellers, budget-conscious visitors
Direct TGV/SNCF Train10–15 min (plus wait for departure)€30–€50High, but limited daily departuresTravellers whose schedule lines up
Shuttle Bus85–100 min€20–€25Lower — fixed hours, indirect drop-offBudget travellers not in a hurry

Compare them and the answer will be obvious: what you really want to care about on your arrival day. Need the least amount of trouble to get to your room? Questions of speed are moot, and the private transfer is more comfortable than any train; besides, the money is worth the increased time and energy you’ll save in the transfer. Travelling solo or as a pair with light bags and don’t mind a station change? The RER is a smart, cheap, reliable choice and runs the entire day. If it doesn’t fit your flight time, the direct train from SNCF doesn’t make much sense: you are simply waiting for a rare opportunity, and you didn’t choose it so you might as well not do it. The cheapest option is the shuttle bus, although this is only really convenient if you are on a budget and don’t mind getting a bit further from Disney’s hotel area.

Conclusion

There is no one correct method to Charles de Gaulle to Moxy Paris Val d’Europe. Only the option that accommodates the way you are travelling. If you have a family with small children and a lot of bags, you will most certainly be getting a great deal more for your money with a private transfer. Those who don’t mind using public transport will find the RER more than suitable for solo travellers and couples. For those who like to travel budget-friendly and can be flexible with their time, the shuttle bus can work, provided they schedule their travel around its fixed times.

If it’s important for the comfort rather than saving some money, then arrange a private transfer by an operator such as T2 Transfer, and the 40 km trip becomes the easiest and not the most stressful part of the travel day. Whatever way you do it you’ll be in a moment in the same place as Disneyland Paris, just around the corner, in Val d’Europe.
