Travelling from Gare du Nord to Eiffel Tower? Built in 1864, Gare du Nord is an icon of rail travel in France, adorned with stunning architecture and featured in many tv and film productions, it is recognised the world over.

Although during it’s inception and build, the tower was heavily criticised and forecast to be a big failure! How wrong were the critics of the day.
The views from the tower are fantastic, there is also a really nice cafe on the first level where you can sample the excellent French cakes and pastries, as well as take some fluids on board – especially if you walked the 300 steps up! For the adventurous explorer there is another 300 steps to the second level!
A visit to the Eiffel Tower is exciting, not only do you get fantastic views of the city, you can have a nice coffee and a bit to eat on the first level.
You’ll earn it though, there are over 300 steps up! And if you want to go to the second level, that’s another 300 steps! It can be a physical challenge so if you are keen to arrive fresh at the tower you’ll need a quick, direct journey from Gare du Nord.

Transfers from Gare du Nord to Eiffel Tower By Train
Paris has an extensive suburban rail network, however, there are no direct rail options between Gare du Nord to Eiffel Tower. There are several different options across the RER and Metro lines but we will only concentrate on the most convenient.
Starting at Gare du Nord take the RER B train to Denfert-Rochereau. From there take the Metro line 6 to Bir-Hakeim where the Eiffel Tower is a short 10 minute walk away.
Duration: 27 minutes
Cost: Adult single ticket is €10, Child single ticket is €7.
Transfer from Gare du Nord to Eiffel Tower By Bus
There is the option of taking the bus, this does however require a short walk. Not the easiest with children or elderly passengers.
From Gare du Nord walk to Magenta Maubeuge where you can take the RATP 42 bus towards Hôpital Européen Georges Pompidou. Disembark the bus on Champ de Mars near the Eiffel Tower.
